Adam Goldman, Founder and Managing Director

Adam Goldman is a Founder and Managing Director of Red Rocks Capital. Prior to forming Red Rocks Capital in 2003, he was a General Partner and Managing Director in four separate venture funds with Centennial Ventures. Mr. Goldman has served on the boards of more than a dozen private companies. He is a past President and Chairman of the Board of the Colorado Venture Capital Association. In addition, Mr. Goldman sat on the Governor’s Science and Technology Commission for the State of Colorado, and he is currently a board member of Energy Outreach Colorado. Mr. Goldman has a BA degree from Northwestern University and a MM from the J.L. Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University. He has over 25 years of investment experience in alternatives, public and private equity.

 

Mark Sunderhuse, Founder and Managing Director

Mark Sunderhuse is a Founder and Managing Director of Red Rocks Capital. Prior to forming Red Rocks Capital in 2003, he was a Partner and Portfolio Manager at Berger Financial Group (now Janus Capital Group), managing in excess of $1.3 billion. Prior to Berger, Mr. Sunderhuse co-founded Crestone Capital, where he managed $750 million in institutional small cap growth equity products and headed the investment committee at United Banks of Colorado (now Wells Fargo). Mr. Sunderhuse is a governing board member of the Fire and Police Pension Association of Colorado ($4 billion in assets) and sits on various other boards, including Energy Outreach Colorado. Mr. Sunderhuse has over 25 years of professional investment experience.

 

2007: Andrew Drummond, Senior Analyst, 16 years of industry experience.

Andrew Drummond is a Senior Analyst for Red Rocks Capital. Prior to joining Red Rocks Capital in 2007, he was a Portfolio Manager at Sargent, Bickham Lagudis in Boulder, Colorado. Previously, Mr. Drummond was an Equity Analyst for Berger Financial Group from 1999 through 2003 and an Analyst for Colorado Public Employees’ Retirement Association (PERA) from 1996 to 1999. Mr. Drummond began his investment management career at The Boston Company Asset Management. He is currently a member of the Family Services Committee with Flatirons Habitat for Humanity. Mr. Drummond has a BS from the University of Colorado and a MS in finance from the University of Denver.

 

2007: Kirk McCown CFA, Vice President Research, 23 years of industry experience.

Kirk McCown is a Senior Analyst for Red Rocks Capital. Prior to joining Red Rocks Capital in 2007, Mr. McCown was with Janus Capital and Crestone Capital Management, where he was Founder and Chief Investment Officer. Previously, Mr. McCown served as Senior Vice President and Portfolio Manager for Reich & Tang in New York, Portfolio Manager for The St. Paul Companies and as a Trust Investment Officer for Norwest Bank in Omaha. Mr. McCown has a BA and a MA from the University of Nebraska. Mr. McCown has 23 years of investment experience and over 30 years of industry experience. He has earned the right to use the Chartered Financial Analyst designation.

 

2007: Matt Luoma, CPA, Chief Financial Officer/Chief Compliance Officer, 25 years of industry experience.

Matt Luoma is the Chief Financial Officer and the Chief Compliance Officer of Red Rocks Capital. Prior to joining Red Rocks Capital in 2007, Mr. Luoma was with Janus Capital for 16 years in a variety of leadership positions, most recently as the Vice President of Tax. Prior to Janus, he was with Ernst & Young, where he specialized in tax and accounting issues relating to financial institutions and retirement plans. Mr. Luoma has a BA in business administration from William & Mary and a MA in taxation from the University of Denver. He is a CPA and has over 25 years of experience.

 

2007: Lindsey Ralph, Research Analyst, 1 year of industry experience.

Lindsey Ralph is a research analyst for Red Rocks Capital. Ms. Ralph joined Red Rocks as an intern in 2007, before becoming a research analyst in 2008. Prior to Red Rocks she was an intern at TIAA-CREF and Lefthand Communications. Ms. Ralph has a BS in finance from the University of Colorado. She is currently a Chartered Financial Analyst Level 2 candidate.

 

2009: David Sprague, Director Strategic Relations, 19 years of industry experience.

David Sprague is the Director of Strategic Relations for Red Rocks Capital, LLC. In this role, Dave is responsible for the oversight of marketing and distribution for Red Rocks Capital. Prior to joining Red Rocks in 2009, Dave was a senior vice president with Jackson National Life from 2002 – 2008. In that capacity, he managed numerous marketing, sales and distribution functions including Marketing Strategy, Retirement and Wealth Strategies, Curian Capital’s east region and the National Sales Desk. Mr. Sprague’s earlier experience includes management and wholesaling roles with American Funds Distributors, Putnam Investments and SunAmerica.

 

2010: Glenn Dreiling, Trader/Operations Manager, 18 years of industry experience.

Glenn Dreiling is the Trader and Operations Manager for Red Rocks Capital. Prior to joining Red Rocks Capital in 2010, Mr. Dreiling was with Janus Capital Group for 17 years in a variety of positions in investment accounting and operations, most recently as the Director of Portfolio Accounting. Mr. Dreiling has a BA in business administration from Colorado State University.
